Happy New Year!

It's cold outside and we are sitting in front of the fire reflecting on the events of 2010, the ash cloud, air traffic control strikes, B.A. strikes, all of which we were caught up in, one way or another. The travel industry certainly felt some after shocks from the volcanic eruptions.

Our association with Distant Landings has been fantastic this year. We have had a great year, in spite of all the travelling difficulties.

Our year started in South Africa, an ever popular destination, and it never disappoints. Starting in Cape Town, then on to Fancourt and finishing up at Jock's Safari Lodge, you can see from the gin and tonics overlooking Kruger National Park, this was a very special occasion. Oh and of course, we got to play at Leopard Creek, the Augusta of South Africa, a truly memorable day. It brought back happy memories as we watched the golf there on TV this winter.

This was the first of many great tours and holidays in 2010 and it was followed by a trip to Benalup and then to Madeira.

Next was my favourite destination, Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Fantastic golf courses, great food, not too big on culture but the shopping was fantastic … and no, I did not buy the Ian Poulter Visor and hair!!!!

It's just after the new year now and we look forward to our first tour of Vietnam departing Saturday 8th January, taking in Saigon and Hoi An with trips to the Mekong River Delta and the ancient citadel in Hué. We follow this with a tour of the Cape Winelands and the Garden Route in South Africa in early February.

In May we head to a new destination for us, to tour the Italian Lakes. Our forward bookings for these three tours has been nothing short of amazing. They have been fully booked for some time now, in fact our Italy tour was sold out within just four days of it hitting the website, leaving no time for us to send out a flier!

The good news is, we have two spaces left on the Spring Golf Schools and we still have spaces available on the Gary Pike Festival of Golf week at the ever popular Penina Resort and San Lorenzo in the Portuguese Algarve from 12th March. If you feel like an extra golf holiday in the Spring to start off your golf season in the sun, why not join us here.

Looking ahead to Autumn/Winter 2011/2012 we start with a return visit to the Fairplay Golf Resort & Spa in Benalup, details of which are on our website and we are already taking bookings.
